Arts Access for All
Young Audiences of Northern California connects professional artists with schools and brings essential arts learning and cultural resources directly to students. Our diverse roster of award-winning artists and ensembles spans four art disciplines: dance, music, theatre, and visual arts – and offers assembly performances, workshops, artist residencies, and professional development for classroom teachers.
In celebration of our 60th Anniversary of reaching children where they live, learn and play with meaningful arts engagement, Young Audiences of Northern California is proud to establish Arts Access for All, an initiative that is designed to bring arts experiences to all Bay Area children.
What is Arts Access for All?
Arts Access for All provides scholarships to underserved schools, underwriting up to 80% of the cost to deliver arts education to their students, helping principals and educators with limited resources provide hands-on arts learning that expands upon school curriculum.
How Does It Work?
Through your sponsorship support, Arts Access for All aims to reach 8,200 high-need Bay Area students this year who would not otherwise have access to hands-on arts learning.
Who Is Eligible?
Any Bay Area school with a majority of students enrolled in the Free and Reduced-Price Lunch program or lacking in resources to provide regular arts instruction is eligible to participate.
What Do Schools Receive?
Access to 48 local artists, including nationally renowned musicians, dancers, actors and visual artists, representing 17 distinct world cultures, representing the diverse backgrounds of our many Bay Area communities. Schools can choose from a variety of programs and services including:
71 different live performance assemblies such as Kultura Kapwa’s “Dance and Music from the Philippines”
24 different workshops, such as “Art Meets Science and Math” with Beth Krebs
21 different artist residencies, such as Kirah Caminos’ “High Energy Latin Dance”
How do funders benefit?
Targeted Leverage –Through Arts Access for All, funder dollars can be targeted to reach high-need students in the funder’s specific area of interest (geographic, demographic, or age) while benefiting from the leverage of a being part of a larger program that engages with diverse groups within our Bay Area communities.

Teaching Artists provide in-depth residencies and workshops and thought-provoking performances, evoking a deep understanding of the art itself and the ability to implement acquired skills into other areas of learning
