Throughout his career as an arts administrator and marketing communications executive, John has had the privilege to work in both non-profit arts and commercial entertainment industries and has developed a variety of initiatives and programs that lead each institution into the new stages of development. Adept at building mutually beneficial business partnerships, John has developed a unique blend of creative, strategic, and entrepreneurial programs. He has worked for Blue Man Group Las Vegas, Mesa Arts Center/City of Mesa, the Arts & Business Council of Greater Phoenix, Lamplighters Music Theatre, Magic Theatre and CuriOdyssey (Coyote Point Museum for Environmental Education).
As a senior a partner in PJDesign Management, John’s clients have included Early Alert Canines (diabetic alert dogs), The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus and New Conservatory Theatre Company. Most recently, John has worked at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts as Interim Director of Marketing, where he designed and implemented a comprehensive Customer Service Training program.
Mandy Billings, Senior Program Manager

An experienced program manager with a background in community arts education and a passion for making art accessible to everyone, Mandy recently came to Young Audiences from the California Institute of Integral Studies. There she managed a graduate counseling psychology program and worked closely with students, faculty, and staff. Prior to that she worked at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she taught and advised liberal arts students for several years. A creative writer, Mandy has been involved with community readings, performances, and writing projects for years. She is incredibly passionate about arts access and education and thrilled to be working with Young Audiences to provide such rich arts experiences to children.

As Development Manager at Young Audiences of Northern California, Marika García is responsible for cultivating support from individuals and organizations, ensuring our work may continue to make an impact on Bay Area children and their families. Prior to her work at Young Audiences, she helped establish arts education programs in Sacramento Valley schools as the Executive Director of Yuba Sutter Arts. As a visual artist, she understands the importance of arts education on young minds, and remembers fondly how it helped foster her own creativity and self-expression.
