Virtual classes, performances, and more from our teaching artist community:

Michael Katz

Even though so much of the magic of storytelling is that it's a shared live experience, both among the audience members and with the storyteller, Michael is also aware that laughter and seeing familiar faces is really valuable for young people during these times. He has shared three storytelling performances for students and families on YouTube: "Wiley and the Hairyman," "Tia Miseria," and "The Magic of Patience"

San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC)

SFGMC, in collaboration with the It Gets Better Project, put together a 6-week curriculum called Outside Voices. The curriculum is written for students in grades 6-12. Students will take their personal stories and turn them into a piece of performance art (song, rap, spoken word, or monologue) as a way to elevate their voice and use art as a mode of activism. SFGMC is releasing a series of 6 videos that help guide students through each of the lessons.
