Come along to experience this fun & virtual performance that honors and highlights Black History- not just for a month but as a life long journey that continues to write itself today. Acknowledging a history of oppression and celebrating the dreams of African Americans, Oakland, California’s own vocal band SoVoSó will lead students on a musical journey through themes related to the experience of the African American community. Sharing their own personal stories of migration, they invite everyone to consider and share their own. Students will discover new ways to use THEIR voice, and how music is a way to communicate the challenges and hopes of Black people— past, present, and future. Honoring Black musician’s and real life heroes that have inspired them, SoVoSó creates a live show experience with a powerful message: We are "One Planet, One World, One People”.
